Abraham Hogenberg Collection

Abraham Hogenberg (1535–1590) was a Flemish engraver and publisher of the 16th century. He is best known for his series of town plans and views, Civitates Orbis Terrarum, which was published in Cologne between 1572 and 1617. The work included 546 prospects, bird's-eye views, maps and plans of cities from all around the world. Hogenberg also engraved numerous religious works as well as portraits of rulers such as Queen Elizabeth I of England.
