David Roberts, a British artist born in 1796, was renowned for his breathtaking depictions of architectural wonders and landscapes from around the world. His artistic talent and keen eye for detail allowed him to capture the essence of each location he visited. One of his notable works is the "Grand Portico of the Temple of Philae - Nubia, " a tinted lithograph created between 1842-1849. Among his many travels was Jerusalem in 1839 where he captured various scenes including Caiaphas looking towards Mount Carmel or an entrance to Tombs of Kings Jerusalem.
